JONATHAN TUCKER

Date of Birth: May 31, 1982

Growing up just outside of Boston in Brookline, Massachusetts, Jonathan Tucker landed a role as Fritz in the Boston Ballet's production of The Nutcracker when he was just nine years old. He'd become interested in ballet and performing at the age of three, when attending a New York City ballet with his grandmother. Shortly afterwards, he began taking ballet lessons and started acting in commercials. His father is renowned art historian/professor curator Paul Hayes Tucker, who is the world's foremost authority on Claude Monet and French Impressionism. Thanks to his father's profession, Jonathan and his mother, marketing analyst Maggie Moss Tucker, traveled around the world, even spending a couple of years in Paris. By the time Jonathan was ready for high school, he ended up enrolling at the Thacher School, a boarding school in Ojai, California.

At the age of 12, Tucker made his feature film debut in the western comedy, The Fight Before Christmas (1994). His next role was in Two if by Sea (1996) starring Sandra Bullock, followed by playing a younger version of Billy Crudup's character in Sleepers (1996), also starring Robert DeNiro, Dustin Hoffman and Kevin Bacon. Tucker made his TV debut with a guest appearance on Early Edition (1997), playing a streetwise teenager who almost dies during a cold snap. While filming the TV movie Mr. Music (1998) in Toronto, he had the chance to meet Sofia Coppola, who was there to film The Virgin Suicides (1999), and Tucker landed a role as one of the boys in the neighborhood. He starred in the teen comedy 100 Girls (2000), playing a college freshman who gets stuck in an elevator in the dark with a woman he doesn't know and ends up falling in love with her. In the critically acclaimed feature film The Deep End (2001), Tucker played Tilda Swinton's gay son, whose lover is found murdered. In Ball in the House (2001), he starred as a troubled youth who tries to regain control of his life by confronting his drug and alcohol addiction, while in The Texas Chainsaw Massacre (2003), he played one of a group of teenagers on a road trip who put themselves in danger when they pick up the survivor of a massacre.

Tucker has also guested on television series such as The Practice, Philly and CSI: Crime Scene Investigation. He lives in Southern California and enjoys lacrosse, reading and hanging out with friends.
