Jonathan Groff

Born in Lancaster, Pennsylvania, Jonathan Groff won acclaim in 2006 for his role as Melchior Gabor in the original Broadway rock musical Spring Awakening, based on the 1891 play of the same name. Jonathan received a Tony award nomination for Best Actor in a Musical for his performance. He later appeared on Broadway again in 2015 in the hit musical Hamilton, playing the role of King George III, for which he earned another Tony award nomination.
In 2007 Jonathan made his television debut with a recurring role on the soap opera One Life to Live, in the role of Henry Mackler. He made his feature film debut just two years later, in Ang Lee's Taking Woodstock (2009).
He's been keeping pretty busy on TV since then, playing starring roles on the hit Fox series Glee (2010 to 2015) as Jesse St. James; the Starz series Boss (2012), and he currently plays a starring role as FBI agent Holden Ford on the Netflix series Mindhunter.
Jonathan is also well-known for his voice work, having provided the voice of Kristoff in Frozen (2013) and Frozen II (2019), as well as in several short films and the animated TV series Lego Frozen Northern Lights (2016).
Jonathan came out as gay in 2009 and has been romantically linked to actor Zachary Quinto, but is now in a relationship with choreographer Corey Baker.
