JOHNNY SIMMONS
Date of Birth: November 28, 1986
Born in Montgomery, Alabama but raised in Dallas, Texas, Johnny Simmons accomplished quite a bit in a short time after moving to Los Angeles.
His first film was a short entitled My Ambition (2006). When casting notices went out, there was a misprint stating that the production was looking for a lead female to play 'Julie Walters.’ Johnny contacted the production office to ask if they had a part for a male and found himself auditioning for the lead—Jules Walters. Producers cast him on the spot and never bothered to rerun the correct casting notice, which in turn, got him his first manager.
He made his feature film debut in Evan Almighty (2007), the sequel to Jim Carrey's hit film, Bruce Almighty. Based around the return of Steve Carell's character, Evan, Johnny plays Evan's teenage son. He followed that up with a role in Boogeyman 2 (2008), the horror sequel to the box office smash Boogeyman. Johnny has also appeared on television on the hit series Numb3ers.
With inspirations like River Phoenix, Johnny Depp, Phillip Seymour Hoffman, and Benico Del Toro and aspirations to work with the likings of Edward Zwick, Marc Forster, Terry Gilliam, and Alfonso Cuarón, Simmons is well on his way to becoming one of Hollywood’s newest young stars. He can most recently be seen in the big-screen adaptation of The Perks of Being a Wallflower (2012) and The To Do List (2013).
When not shooting movies, watching movies, or reading and writing scripts, Johnny enjoys art, surfing, snowboarding, and taking road trips. In time he would like to start his own charity geared at providing for the homeless. Simmons resides in Los Angeles close to one of his favorite places, the beach.
