Jenna Ortega is an actress best known for her starring role on the Disney series Stuck in the Middle and for playing young Jane on the CW series Jane the Virgin.

Jenna was born in Coachella Valley, California to parents of Mexican and Puerto Rican descent. She has three sisters and two brothers.

At a young age, Jenna had already built up quite the resumé for herself in both film and television, mostly with leading roles.

She made her acting debut at age eight on the sitcom Rob (2012), starring Rob Schneider. The following year she made her big screen debut in the movie Iron Man 3 (2013) as the Vice President's daughter.

In 2014, Jenna's career really took off. She played a lead role as Mary Ann in the video release The Little Rascals Save the Day, was cast in a regular role as Zoe Leon on the Fox crime drama Rake, and landed the recurring role of young Jane Villenueva on the show Jane the Virgin.

Not long after, she landed the role of Darcy on the Netflix series Richie Rich, and in 2016, was cast in a starring role as Harley Diaz on the Disney Channel comedy series Stuck in the Middle (2016-2018), about a girl who is the middle in a family of seven children. Her work on the show earned her an Imagen Award for Best Young Actor on Television in 2018, and also two nominations for the same award in 2016 and 2019.


When Stuck in the Middle ended after three successful seasons, Jenna went on to played Dawn in the film Saving Fiora (2018), which earned her a Southampton International Film Festival nomination for Best Lead Actress in a Feature. She also appeared in the second season of the popular Netflix show You (2019) as Ellie Alves and played a starring role in the Netflix film The Babysitter: Killer Queen (2020). She voices the character Brooklynn on the Netflix animated series Jurassic World: Camp Cretaceous (2020-2021).

In 2021, Jenna led the film The Fallout. The film received positive reviews, and Jenna’s performance was praised.

The next year, her star exploded when she appeared in the horror films Scream (2022) and X (2022), as well as starred as the lead character on the hit Netflix series Wednesday. Jenna played Wednesday Addams and was universally praised for her performance. As a result, she was nominated for an Emmy, a Golden Globe, and a SAG Award for Best Actress in a Comedy Series. Season two is confirmed and is expected to be released sometime in 2025.

In 2023, Jenna reprised her role as Tara Carpenter in Scream VI. The next year, she took on another iconic franchise in the much-anticipated sequel Beetlejuice Beetlejuice (2024) with Michael Keaton and Winona Ryder.

In 2025, she starred alongside Paul Rudd, Will Poulter, and Richard E. Grant in the A24 film Death of a Unicorn. She is also set to star alongside The Weeknd and Barry Keoghan in Hurry Up Tomorrow (2025).

At the age of 18, Jenna released a book called It’s All Love: Reflections for Your Heart & Soul, a compilation of motivational quotes and stories from her life. ~Sean Olegario
