JASON BEHR
Date of Birth: December 30, 1973
Originally from Minneapolis, Jason Behr is known to audiences for his starring role as Max Evans in the TV series Roswell, which ran for three seasons. Behr made a name for himself and drew a substantial fan base as the confused teenage alien with a heart of gold.
Jason began his professional acting career at six with a Season's Greeting spot for a local Minnesota television station. TV commercials followed, then Jason moved to Los Angeles after high school graduation, with $200 in his pocket. He soon landed a two-episode stint on the sitcom Step by Step before becoming a series regular on the short-lived Sherman Oaks (1995). Guest appearances on Pacific Blue, JAG, Cracker, Buffy the Vampire Slayer and 7th Heaven followed, as well as a role in the TV movie Alien Nation (1996), before he made his feature debut in Pleasantville (1998).
Playing Chris Wolfe on six episodes of Dawson's Creek brought Jason some notice, and helped him land a lead role on Roswell. On hiatus between the first and second seasons, Jason co-starred with Kevin Spacey and Judi Dench in The Shipping News (2001), directed by Lasse Hallström, and received a Movieline Magazine Award for his performance. He also starred in Rites Of Passage with Dean Stockwell, which won Best Film at the 2000 Santa Monica Film Festival.
Jason played as an emerging singer/songwriter struggling with his personal demons in the independent film Shooting Livien (2004), and reunited with Buffy star Sarah Michelle Gellar in The Grudge. On the personal side, Jason dated Katherine Heigl, who played his sister in Roswell, from 2001 to 2003, but after they became engaged, the relationship fell apart. In November 2006, he married actress KaDee Strickland.
In his spare time, he enjoys basketball, tennis and golf.
