Jake Paltrow
Date of Birth: September 26, 1975
Writer and director Jake Paltrow comes from a very talented family. He was born as Jacob Danner Paltrow in Los Angeles, California to writer/producer Bruce Danner and Tony award-winning actress Blythe Danner, and is the younger brother of A-list actress Gwyneth Paltrow.
Jake was raised in the world of Hollywood, so it was no surprise when he followed his father’s footsteps and directed several episodes of the television show NYPD Blue between 1997 and 2004. During that time he also directed episodes of TV shows The Jury and The Others.
In 2007 he made his feature film debut when he wrote and directed the film The Good Night, starring Penelope Cruz, Martin Freeman and Jake’s sister, Gwyneth Paltrow. It would be another seven years before he wrote/directed another film, Young Ones starring Nicholas Hoult and Elle Fanning.
In addition to his work in feature films, Jake directed short films about actors for The New York Times and directed a few episodes of Boardwalk Empire. He is married to photographer and artist Taryn Simon.
