JAKE ABEL

Born in Canton, Ohio, Jacob Allen Abel is an American model and actor. His first acting role was in the Disney Channel original movie Go Figure, playing a young hockey player named Spencer. In 2008, he received a Rising Star award at the 16th Hamptons International Film Festival for his work in Flash of Genius.
He has since done many guest roles on television shows such as The Suite Life of Zack and Cody, CSI: Miami, CSI: NY, ER and Grey's Anatomy. He also played a role on a 10-episode web-series called Angel of Death.
Abel auditioned to play the role of Edward Cullen in Twilight, but the part went to Robert Pattinson. In regards to not getting the part, Abel told Interview magazine, "I don't want to say I sabotaged myself, but I have a tendency to go against the grain."
In 2009, he played Brian Nelson in The Lovely Bones, starring Saoirse Ronan, then went on to portray Luke Castellan in 2010's Percy Jackson & the Olympians: The Lightning Thief, reprising the role for the 2013 sequel Percy Jackson: Sea of Monsters, which also stars Logan Lerman and Pierce Brosnan. In the sci-fi teen action flick I Am Number Four he acted alongside Alex Pettyfer and Dianna Agron.
Abel re-teamed with his The Lovely Bones co-star Ronan for The Host, based on the novel written by Stephanie Meyer. He then starred in Percy Jackson: Sea of Monsters (2013.
He also played Mike Love in the biographical drama Love & Mercy (2014), about the life of The Beach Boy's co-founder and lead singer Brian Wilson, the war drama Good Kill (2015) and the comedy drama Almost Friends (2016).
Since then, the actor's career has been mostly on the small screen, including the Netflix sci-fi series Another Life (2019), which was shot in Vancouver, British Columbia.
Jake Abel married Allie Wood in November 2013.
