Named as one of Inside Film Magazine's top 25 rising young Australian actors in 2012, Jai Courtney is quickly making a name for himself as a rising star.
Born in Sydney, Australia, Jai studied theater at the Western Australian Academy of Performing Arts, with high hopes of breaking into mainstream film. After playing roles in a couple of TV series and making his motion picture debut in the indie film Stone Bros., his breakthrough came in 2010, when he landed a starring role as Varro the gladiator on the TV series Spartacus: Blood and Sand.
Jai’s performance, combined with his brawny and masculine features, catapulted him into the action movie arena. He soon landed his first big role in a major motion picture. He was cast as Charlie , the evil mercenary in Paramount Picture's Jack Reacher(2012) opposite Tom Cruise.
Shortly after, Jai landed a starring role as John McClane's son in A Good Day to Die Hard(2013), starring iconic action star Bruce Willis.
Jai is not slowing down, having already completed roles in the horror thriller I, Frankenstein(2014), and the Australian cop drama Felony(2013). He starred in Divergent (2014) and in the sequel, The Divergent Series: Insurgent (2015). He also starred alongside Arnold Schwarzenegger in Terminator Genisys (2015).
Jai can most recently be seen as Boomerang in the action flick Suicide Squad (2016), as Captain Stefan Brandt in the drama The Exception (2016), and as U.S. Marine Devin Roberts in the post-apocalyptic war drama Man Down (2016).
