HAROLD ZWART
Date of Birth: July 1, 1965
Originally from the Netherlands, Zwart grew up in Norway. As early as age eight, he started making short films. He attended the Dutch Film Academy in Amsterdam where he received great acclaim for his student film Gabriel's Surprise. The film was later televised.
After school, Zwart began working in the commercial industry. Much of his work became award winning and he spanned his horizons, working outside Norway with countries like England, France, Germany and the United States.
After directing a number of rock videos, Zwart directed a miniseries in 1997. Titled Commander Hamilton, the series became so popular that an edited version was released theatrically as a feature film. As on television, the film was a hit, and became the highest grossing film that year.
For the start of the new millennium, Zwart took on a new project his first feature filmOne Night at McCool's. From there he moved on to the popular kids' movie Agent Cody Banks (2003), followed by The Pink Panther 2 (2009), starring Steve Martin and The Karate Kid (2010), starring Jackie Chan. His latest directorial film is The Mortal Instruments: City of Bones (2013).
