FINN JONES
Date of Birth: March 24, 1988
Finn Jones, born Terence “Terry” Jones, is a British actor best known for his role as Loras Tyrell in the HBO fantasy-drama series Game of Thrones. He was a Sixth Form student at Hayes School in Bromley, UK, before training in a three-year acting course at The Arts Educational Schools.
He first began his professional acting career in Hollyoaks Later, a spinoff of a successful British soap opera. On June 19, 2010, it was announced that he would be appearing in Game of Thrones as the character Ser Loras Tyrell, commonly known as the Knight of Flowers.
While he is heterosexual in real life, Finn feels strongly about marriage equality. In the February 2013 issue of Gay Times magazine, he commented on playing the homosexual Loras, saying: “In terms of the gay community, I’ve got a strong reaction that people are happy with it, happy that gay characters are being portrayed but not in a sensationalized or stereotyped way, and they’re being put into a world that is a very masculine, hard world.”
Finn tried his hand at a few movies, playing a role in 2012’s Wrong Turn 5: Bloodlines, and then starring in the 2014 films Sleeping Beauty and The Last Showing.
In 2015, he sang carols at a shopping center in Islington, in order to assist Oxfam campaigners in raising money for their appeal to support Syrian refugees. As for his interests, Finn is not only a fan of music, but produces it as well. He is part of a London-based collective called Human Effort, and is also a DJ himself. He is a big fan of the animated series Adventure Time, which airs on Cartoon Network.
Finn is scheduled to appear as the title character in the upcoming Netflix series, Marvel’s Iron Fist, and will be starring as the same character in The Defenders, both planned for release in 2017.
