CORY MONTEITH

Cory Allan-Michael Monteith was born in Calgary, Alberta, but raised in Victoria, British Columbia. As a teenager, he rebelled and struggled with drinking and a drug addiction. At just 16, he dropped out of school and was in rehab by age 19. He also held many different jobs before acting, such as being a greeter at Wal-Mart, taxi driver, school bus driver and roofer.
Cory began acting in British Columbia and secured small roles in films such as Final Destination 3 and Deck the Halls with Matthew Broderick and Danny DeVito. He has also been in many TV movies, including Mistresses and The Boy Next Door, as well as having made guest appearances on Canadian-filmed television series such as Smallville and Supernatural.
In 2009, Cory's biggest break came when he was cast as Finn Hudson, a sports jock, who risks embarrassment after joining the high school glee club on the hit TV series Glee. He has since toured with the cast of Glee as they performed live sets for audiences across the world. The concert was then turned into the big screen Glee: The 3D Concert Movie.
In 2010, he starred as Owen Andrews in Monte Carlo alongside Katie Cassidy and Selena Gomez. He also played the role of Justin in 2011's Sisters&Brothers with fellow Canadians Amanda Crew and Gabrielle Miller.
In 2011, Cory received his high school diploma from an alternative school in British Columbia. He also won the 2011 Teen Choice award for Choice TV: Actor Comedy. When not acting, the Canadian-born actor played drums for the Indie rock band Bonnie Dune. He also enjoyed hockey, basketball, skimboarding and surfing.
At the age of 31, on Saturday, July 13, 2013, Cory was found dead in a Vancouver hotel room. He was dating his Glee co-star Lea Michele at the time.
