Colton Ryan

Colton Ryan was born and raised in Lexington, Kentucky, where he attended the School for the Creative and Performing Arts, majoring in vocal performance.

While attending Baldwin Wallace University in 2015, Colton began his acting career by playing Dickon in the Idaho Shakespeare Festival production of The Secret Garden.

In 2016, Colton made his Broadway debut as the understudy for the roles of Evan Hansen, Connor Murphy and Jared Kleinman as part of the original cast of the hit musical Dear Evan Hansen. He stayed with production until he graduated from Baldwin Wallace University in 2017 with a Bachelor of Fine Arts degree.

Colton made his television debut in an episode of Law & Order: Special Victims Unit (2017) titled "No Good Reason," in the guest role of Andrew Drake. Other television shows Colton has worked on include Homeland (2018), on which he played J.J. Elkins, and Little Voice (2020), playing the main role of Samuel.

In 2019, Colton made his big screen debut as Brad in the indie film Adam (2019). That same year, he received a Theatre World Award for Outstanding Debut Performance for his work in the Off-Broadway production of Girl From the North Country.

In his most recent project, Colton took on the role of Connor Murphy in the major motion picture adaptation of the Broadway show Dear Evan Hansen (2021), working alongside Ben Platt again in the very same title that started his career and helped make a name for him in the industry.

Colton has a black belt in Taekwondo, practices yoga and has a longtime girlfriend, fellow musician/actor Adrian Grace Bumpas. ~Sean Olegario
