CHRISTOPHER ERSKIN
Date of Birth: c. 1974
Christopher Erskin became interested in filmmaking at the young age of nine. His first short film was entitled Attack of the Killer Dogs, starring several of his cousins. His professional career began in 1996 as a music video director with Epic/550 artist Ginuwine. He went on to direct videos for top recording artists such as Snoop Dogg, Missy Elliott and Boyz II Men and became known for his unique framing and camera effects.
As he made a name for himself, Erskin moved on to directing international commercials as well, including one starring actress/singer Mandy Moore, and spots for Pontiac and Athlete's Foot shoe stores.
Influenced by the films of acclaimed directors such as Tony Scott, Ridley Scott and Martin Scorsese, it was inevitable that Erskin would turn his eye to features. He made his big screen directorial debut with the comedy Johnson Family Vacation (2004), starring Cedric the Entertainer, Steve Harvey and Vanessa L. Williams.
