CHRISTINA MILIAN
Date of Birth: September 26, 1981
Christina Milian was born to Cuban parents in Jersey City, New Jersey and was raised in Waldorf, Maryland. She began her career at the age of seven, traveling to nearby New York City for modeling and commercial gigs. After completing a six-month stint in the musical Annie Warbucks, 13-year-old Christina and her mother went to California to expand her career opportunities. Her first job was as one of the hosts of the Disney Channel's The Movie Surfers, in which she and four other youngsters took the audience behind the scenes of Disney's biggest productions and creations including movies, music videos and theme parks. During her two-year stint on the show, she also provided one of the voices for the Disney feature film A Bug's Life and made guest appearances on shows such as Charmed, Clueless and Get Real, and made her feature film debut with small roles in American Pie and The Wood.
Her music debut was as a guest vocalist on Ja Rule's single "Between Me And You" in 2000, and she also wrote songs for Jennifer Lopez ("Play") and P.Y.T. ("Same Ol' Same Ol'"). In 2001, Milian not only hosted the TV series Wannabe, but released her self-titled debut which included two songs that both soared to number 3 on the UK top 40 chart. She landed her first starring role in the feature Love Don't Cost a Thing (2003), in which she played a popular high school cheerleader hired by a unpopular student to pose as his girlfriend.
Her work in front of the cameras, however, did not put a stop to her musical career. She launched the albums It's About Time and So Amazin' — respectively in 2004 and 2006 — before making a comeback with the album 4U in 2015.
A dog lover, Christina has a Chihuahua and a Yorkshire terrier.
