CEE LO GREEN

Date of Birth: May 30, 1974

American singer/songwriter Thomas DeCarlo Callaway, better known as Cee Lo Green, was born in Atlanta, Georgia. Both his parents were ordained ministers.

When Cee Lo was just two, his father passed away. Years later, just as Cee Lo's singing career began to take off, his mother was in a fatal car accident, leaving her paralyzed. She died soon afterwards.

Cee Lo originally became known for being a part of the southern hip-hop group Goodie Mob, which spun off his solo career. However, due to low record sales, the singer was dropped from his label after two years. Cee-Lo soon found himself in the spotlight once again when he joined the group Gnarls Barkley with DJ Danger Mouse.

On August 12, 2010, he released his smash hit Forget You, which won five Grammy nominations. Finally, his career was on the right track as he landed a judging spot on the reality singing competition The Voice (2011) alongside Christina Aguilera, Blake Shelton and Adam Levine.

He made his big screen debut in the film Mystery Men (1999) alongside his former group, Goodie Mob. Since then he's made several guest appearances on television series such as Robot Chicken (2007), The Boondocks (2008) and Miami Beach Ocean Drive Music Festival (2010).

In 2012 Cee Lo was part of two movies—the animated flick Hotel Transylvania and Sparkle, starring the late Whitney Houston.
