Cailee Spaeny was born in in Springfield, Missouri and has nine siblings. She has loved theater ever since she was a child. In her childhood, she became involved in the Springfield Little Theater. In the 2013-2014 season, she landed the lead role of Ariel in a production of Disney's Little Mermaid.
On her website she writes: "Art is tangible when it’s coming from somewhere that is honest. This drive to create art that is honest, pushes me to become an artist every chance I get." Cailee also enjoys making music. She released the track “Fallin” in 2016 and loves to sing.
She landed her first onscreen role in the short film Counting to 1000 in 2016. Her big break came when she landed the role of Amara Namani in Pacific Rim Uprising (2018).
Cailee returned to the big screen in the thriller Bad Times at the El Royale (2018) where she appeared alongside Jeff Bridges, Chris Hemsworth and Dakota Johnson.
She landed the biggest role of her career with the title role in Priscilla (2023), about the life of Priscilla Presley and how it changed after she met and married Elvis Presley. For her work in the film she won the Volpi Cup for Best Actress at the 2023 Venice Film Festival.
When relaxing Cailee enjoys making music, taking photos, and indulging in her guilty pleasure of Cracker Barrel mashed potatoes. ~Ari Derin
