BERENICE BEJO
Date of Birth: July 7, 1976
Bérénice Bejo, daughter of Argentinian filmmaker Miguel Bejo, was born in Argentina but spent most of her childhood years in France, where she began her acting career. She started off on French television, appearing in several series and TV movies, and in 2001 she made her North American debut with her role of Christiana in A Knight's Tale alongside Heath Ledger, Rufus Sewell and Shannyn Sossamon.
Bejo continued her successful career in French cinema but in 2011, she reunited with former costar Jean Dujardin (the pair worked together in the 2006 film OSS 117: Cairo, Nest of Spies) for a project that has left a lasting impression with critics everywhere. The Artist, a silent film set in 1920s Hollywood about the relationship between a successful actor and a young aspiring actress, has garnered much critical acclaim for both Bejo and Dujardin. Bejo won a Critics Choice award for Best Suporting Actress and received nominations from the Screen Actors Guild, the Golden Globes and the Academy Awards. She most recently appeared in Populaire(2013) and The Past(2014).
