Alisha Weir was born in Dublin, Ireland and attended Our Lady's School. Following in the footsteps of her two older sisters, Alisha started attending drama classes, where she fell in love with the art.
Her acting career began in 2017 when the musical Once (2017) returned to the Olympia Theatre in Dublin. She landed the role of Ivanka, then soon after made her feature film debut in Don’t Leave Home (2018). Alisha was then cast as Laura on the television show Darklands (2019). Her love of the theatre has not stopped though, as she has been in productions of Annie, The Wizard of Oz, and Oliver!
At only 11 years old, she starred as the titular character in Netflix’s film adaptation of Matilda the Musical (2022) and followed that up by playing the daughter of Jessie Buckley's character in Wicked Little Letters (2024). In the horror film Abigail (2024), she plays the titular role of a 12-year-old ballerina.
