ALI LARTER

Date of Birth: February 28, 1976

New Jersey native Ali Larter began her career as a model at the age of 13. On a gig in Italy, she met Amy Smart (Road Trip), who was trying to be an actress. The two became best buds and upon return to LA, became roomates. It was Smart who later got Larter into some acting classes.

In 1996, Esquire magazine used Larter on its cover as a fictitious actress the editors had created to illustrate the hyperbole of Hollywood hype. Appearances on Chicago Hope, Just Shoot Me, and Dawson's Creek followed, but it wasn't until three years later that Larter got her first feature: Varsity Blues, the James Van Der Beek vehicle about football. As Darcy, a Texas cheerleader, Larter's big scene stealing moment came when she wore a bikini fashioned from whipped cream in an attempt to woo the star quarterback (though in reality, shaving cream was used).

Larter soon found herself winning roles in several major projects over the course of 1999. First up was Drive Me Crazy with Melissa Joan Hart, in which Larter played Adrian Grenier's girlfriend. She followed that up with The House on Haunted Hill, in which she played one of several victims who are offered a million dollars to spend the night in a haunted house.

Final Destination (2000) with Devon Sawa and Kerr Smith came next. In it, she played one of several passengers who disembark an airplane when one of them has a vision that the plane will crash.

Larter also starred in American Outlaws as the girlfriend of the notorious outlaw Jesse James, played by Colin Farrell. In 2006, she became a regular on the new NBC series Heroes, which went on to become a huge hit, until it was cancelled in 2010.

In 2007, Larter joined the Resident Evil franchise in the third installment, Resident Evil: Extinction. She followed this up with a starring role alongside Beyonce and Idris Elba in the thriller Obsessed (2009). The next year she reprised her role as Claire Redfield in Resident Evil: Afterlife (2010). She would return for the final film of the franchise, Resident Evil: The Final Chapter in 2017.

She married longtime beau Hayes MacArthur on August 1, 2009.
