Mary Holmes (Heather Wahlquist) is young and beautiful. She lives in Los Angeles with her four children and works as an elementary school teacher. While things may look great on the outside, inside they're falling apart. Mary has a serious drug habit, swallowing up to twenty Vicodin a day.
One day while on one of her out-of-this-world highs, Mary hooks up with a student's parent in the broom closet. She eventually ends up getting fired and then going broke. Having finally hit rock bottom, she finally comes to the realization that needs help, and desperately. Leaving her kids behind, she packs up her car and sets out alone on a road trip to see her family, hoping it will help solve her problems and, with any hope, she'll be able to move on.
