1995. After he’s assaulted in Montreal, a 50-year-old drifter named Joseph travels to his friend’s vacation home in Gaspésie. Determined to stop drinking and get back together with his ex-wife Emma, he invites her to join him. While tension rises on the eve of a second referendum on Quebec sovereignty, Joseph, Emma and their son Ulysses renew their relationships as they wait for the outcome of the referendum.
