Tenderness (2014)

Divorced for 15 years, Frans and Lisa leave Brussels to go to the bedside of their son Jack, who was hospitalized after a minor skiing accident in the Alps. During their two-day journey by car, the former spouses talk about their memories of when they were together and note with amusement that neither has changed. Once there, they meet Alison, their son’s girlfriend. When they all have dinner together, Jack is surprised to see his parents getting along so well. In fact, his girlfriend notes that they still seem to love each other. Years earlier, it was Frans who left Lisa, so when her flirtation with a hitchhiker fills him with despair, he questions whether he still feels more than simple affection for his ex, who has remained single.
