Tehran Taboo
In Tehran, a prostitute who is the mother of a mute 12-year-old boy, has no choice but to become the concubine of a corrupt judge in order to get him to approve her divorce from her husband, an imprisoned drug addict who doesn’t want to let her go. Her new neighbor, a pregnant housewife, wants to work in order to escape the yoke of her mother-in-law; but her banker husband categorically refuses to give her the written authorization she needs. In another part of the city, a naive musician gets into trouble after deflowering his boss’s fiancée in the restroom of a club. His desperate efforts to get the sum necessary for the operation to restore the young woman’s hymen give him great anguish.
