Solomon And Gaenor
To make a living, a young Jew in Wales sells fabrics door to door. But the year is 1911, and anti-Semitism is strong, so he must hide his nationality. On one of his sales he meets and falls in love with a demure young woman (Roberts) with a strong-willed father (Thomas) and a Jew-hating brother (Jones). After they fall in love and she becomes pregnant, she learns of his ethnic background. When anti-Jewish riots break out, the two are forced to flee and become separated.
