Helene, a celebrated author and the unmarried mother of a teenage son, lives in a ritzy neighborhood in Paris. Valentin, an unemployed projectionist who's been dumped by his girlfriend, takes over his uncle's apartment for three months, in the same building as Helene.
Helene looks down her nose at Valentine, who plays loud music and is a bit of a slob. However, her son Jeremy, who's desperately in search of a father figure, quickly makes friends with him. Valentin isn't looking for lovehe's still smarting from his girlfriend's departure. And Helene, who's so tightly wound that she's afraid to open up to anyone, wouldn't consider Valentin a match for her, anyway. But her sex-starved sister may be interested...
