Tuscany, 1970. Mirco, 10, is passionate about movies. One day while playing with a rifle, the gun goes off and Mirco is shot in the head. He survives, but is blind. His parents send him to a Catholic boarding school for the blind in Genoa. Mirco has a difficult time adapting to the harsh and oppressive regime established by the school principal. Unable to escape, the boy finds a tape recorder and uses his imagination to create stories by reproducing sounds, despite the disapproval of school authorities. Inspired by the true story of Mirco Mencacci, one of the most gifted Italian sound editors working today.
