Aurore, 13, is unhappy, rude and sarcastic. Her parents, grandmother and sister are all fed up with her attitude. Forced to repeat the fifth grade, Aurore begins to show interest when her new French teacher introduces her to poetry. Additionally, her personal life picks up when her friend's big brother recruits her as the lead singer for his rock band. Despite her attitude, she gets along with the boys in the band, and finally begins to discover what makes her happy.
