With their army dad away serving his country, the March sisters — Meg (Melanie Stone), Jo (Sarah Davenport), Beth (Allie Jennings) and Amy (Elise Jones) — and their beloved Marmee (Lea Thompson) form a tightly knit family. Along with their next door neighbor Laurie (Lucas Grabeel), the girls have a club in which they write and perform plays.
However, growing up sometimes means growing apart, something that Jo rebels against, especially when older sister Meg announces she's getting married. Aspiring writer Jo leaves for New York determined to publish a novel, but in the wake of rejected draft after draft, Jo loses faith in herself.
When tragedy brings the sisters back home, sticking together takes on new meaning. As Jo comforts her sick sister, Beth asks for one thing: a story. Jo knows the perfect one... by heart.
Based on the beloved classic novel by Louisa May Alcott.
