The little tramp (Charles Chaplin) falls in love with a blind girl (Virginia Cherill) selling flowers who mistakes him for a wealthy duke. The little tramp learns that the girl is in need of a surgery to restore her sight, but can't afford it. He then sets off on numerous comedic adventures find enough money to restore the sight of his beloved, no matter what the consequences may be.
