Burn Out, or the Voluntary Servitude
Burn Out, or the Voluntary Servitude
When the director of the bank branch where she worked is hospitalized for depression, Michelle agrees to take over from him, with the short term goal of improving revenue. Her husband Louis, a telephone repair technician, is equally stressed with his job, which includes solving complex technological problems and having to deal with anger from unscrupulous customers. Already overdue in their mortgage payments, the couple can no longer bear the strain. So when Michelle’s sister decides to sell them her Bed & Breakfast, located in a peaceful corner of the countryside — and at a good price, they jump at the chance.
