Turning Tide

When star skipper Franck Dervil breaks a leg, Yann Kermadec finally sees his dream come true: to replace his friend at the helm of DCNS and participate for the first time in the Vendée Globe, the prestigious round-the-world single-handed yacht race. Everything goes well for Kermadec, who is quickly accepted by the other, more seasoned competitors. But after a technical stop near the Canary Islands, he inadvertently violates the rules of the race. He is no longer alone on board — he has a stowaway: Mano, a 16-year-old Mauritanian. Determined to get the boy to land as soon as possible, Yann changes his plans when he comes across a shipwrecked competitor, who discovers his secret.
