Amidst the chaos that reigns as Kabul is being bombed, a young Afghan woman insists on remaining at her husband’s bedside. Her much older spouse is comatose after receiving a gunshot in the neck during the war. A series of tragic incidents forces her to send her two daughters to find refuge with her aunt, who runs a brothel in another area of the city. Alone with her husband, the chaste and devoted wife opens up to him, without knowing if he can hear her. She tells him her innermost secrets, about her childhood, her frustrations, her loneliness, her dreams and her desires, as she touches him and kisses him—showing an intimacy they never shared before despite being married for 10 years.
