The Newton Boys
The four Newton brothers were probably the most prolific -- and most obscure bank robbers of the 20th century.
The boys plan the biggest heist in American history. With the help of an inside man, they plan the robbery of a mail train headed for the Federal Reserve -- with $3 million tucked inside.
The Newton boys are seperately apprehended after their inside source makes a deal with the authorities. Subjected to brutal interrogation, the brothers refuse to incriminate one another or reveal where the money is hidden. At their trial, they find a way to turn the tables on the man who betrayed them. After serving short prison sentences, the brothers went on to live their lives -- with their story becoming interwoven with the very fabric of American history.
