Paper Moon

This classic movie based on the novel by Joe David Brown won an Oscar for Tatum O'Neal in the role of Addie Loggins. Just nine when she made her movie debut in the film, Tatum made headlines as a smoking, wise-cracking yet innocent looking little girl who'd just lost her mother.

When con man Moses Pray (Ryan O'Neal) shows up at the funeral of Addie's mother, the little girl latches on to him. He's tasked with delivering her to her mother's family, but she's convinced Moses is her father.

They travel the South during the Depression, pulling off larger and larger cons, until they find themselves in over their heads.
