Jeff Buckley (Penn Badgley) gives a distinguished performance at his father’s tribute concert in St. Ann’s Church. In the days leading up to the big show, Jeff is forced to face all of the emotions he's felt towards the father who abandoned him all those years ago—longing, anger, forgiveness, even love. And after pouring his heart into singing his father's songs for the concert, Jeff's debut leaves the audience stunned and ultimately launching a career as one of the greatest musicians of his generation.
