Girl On The Bridge

As Adele (Paradis) thinks about taking her life, she meets Gabor (Auteuil), a knife thrower in need of a human target. Adele has nowhere else to go, so she follows Gabor. As the two travel along the northern bank of the Mediterranean to perform, they win a large fortune through gambling. Adele finally meets up with a newly-wed groom and the two elope to Greece, leaving Gabor stuck in Turkey. The groom leaves Adele which makes her realize that she should be with Gabor. Unfortunately both Gabor and Adele are so poor that neither can pay their way to France to reunite.
