Lawyer Marcie Diggs (Vinessa Antoine) works for Legal Aid in Halifax, Nova Scotia. Along with her team of fellow lawyers, including supervisor Colleen MacDonnell (Natasha Henstridge), veteran lawyer Reggie Thompson (C. David Johnson), Doug Paul (Brandon Oakes), Pam MacLean (Stacey Farber) and social worker Iris Beals (Shailene Garnett), they try to find justice for their racially and financially diverse clients.
