Cirque du Soleil: Worlds Away

Mia (Erica Linz) is a young woman looking for an escape and she finds one when she encounters a handsome aerialist (Igor Zaripov) at the circus. She instantly falls in love with him but as their eyes meet, his hands slip and he falls past the circus ring and into what seems to be another dimension. She follows after him and as they travel through each of these dreamlike realms in search of one another, they experience the magic and awe of different Cirque du Soleil shows.

The production incorporates the best elements of seven different Cirque du Soleil shows that are performed in Las Vegas. Like the live shows, the film has no dialogue and uses only music and the performers’ movements and expressions to carry the storyline.

Although this production uses actual scenes from the Vegas shows, audiences will be able to experience Cirque du Soleil like never before. Unlike in a large theatre where you may be seated far from the stage, the film allows you to get up and close and personal so you can see every detail of the performance&mash;from the aerialists’ facial expressions to the slightest movements of their hands— thanks to co-producer James Cameron’s immersive 3D technology.
