Set in the 1970s, the story follows the unconventional childhood of Channe Willis (Leelee Sobieski) as she grows up in Paris with her parents and adopted brother.
When the family returns to America - Channe, who grew up with sexual freedom, is just hitting puberty. Her sexuality at such a young age makes her feels like an outsider with her peers and gives her a bad reputation. She struggles to find her identity.
Based on the novel of the same name by Kaylie Jones.
