On the day before Christmas, Helly, a young mother who's trying to get custody of her son, gets into a cab driven by Didier, who tries to convince her to pose as his fiancé for his dying father. This is the beginning of a series of meetings which will lead her to Marie, a young ambivalent lesbian who has just left her alcoholic mother, and Chris, and a disillusioned jazz percussionist.
