My friend was assaulted and threatened at this Theater.
March 14, 2018
We were at MJR at Westland on March 2, 2018, when my friend was assaulted and threatened. There was a group of 3 individuals that were very disruptive during the entire movie. The one girl had her phone on the entire time and kept moving her seat. The guy and the other girl kept talking and playing on their phones. My friend finally asked them in a nice way if they could keep it down. The guy stood up and said to my friend “you want a piece of me? Let me get you motherfu@$@$ lets go!!” He then started charging up the stairs and my friend got up and went and stood in the isle way. The gentleman in front of us tried to stop the guy from attacking my friend and had his son run to get security but the out of control guy knocked him over. He ended pushing my friend. The gentleman that tried to stop him grabbed him again. My friend was able to leave and go by the concession stand but then the guy chased after him and started crap again! Security finally caught up with the guy and grabbed him but then he broke lose and ran at my friend again. He threatened my friend again “I wish I had my Strap on me so I could take care of you.” Security heard this but did noting but escort him out of the theater. I called the next day and spoke to the manager who did nothing but apologize. “He was aware of the situation” We then called the main MJR number and the person in charge said “we can not control how our patrons behave.” I asked him why the police were not called and he said “we have no place to hold the guy until the police would arrive.” I asked why didnt they at least get the guys name or ban him? he said “they just wanted him out of there” The cost of our safety was compensated 1 free movie pass. Considering my friend lost his phone and we didnt get to see much of the movie we paid for anyway. Not much of a compensation. This is an unsafe environment. They dont seem to take their customers safety seriously.
