A nightmare scarier than Jaws…

September 09, 2022

What a disappointing visit. On my day off I decided to check out the matinee of Jaws in 3D. I checked the website to confirm the showtime and drove to the theater. When I arrived, 15 minutes prior to the show, there was absolutely nobody at the concession stand. I figured the employee was probably in the back and would be right out. After 5 minutes, no dice. I then called out hello, but there was no answer. I then took a video of the empty lobby, wondering not only how poor the service was but what a security threat it would be for an area like this to be unattended for so long. I waited five more minutes and finally an employee came out. I asked to purchase a ticket and was told that an air conditioner had gone bad and that the movie I wanted to see was unavailable. No update on the website that would have saved me a trip. And I had to wait 10+ minutes just to get the bad news. The manager (Olivia) showed up to confirm the bad news and that was about it. Now, I understand that unexpected things happen. But there is no excuse in the modern age not to give people information when something goes wrong to avoid inconveniencing them. And then, to add insult to injury, having your customers standing around in the lobby with absolutely no contact whatsoever for almost 15 minutes. If this is the future of Regal Cinemas, I feel very bad for the future of this company. New- I returned for the next showing. I wanted to give them a second chance. Apparently everything was working now. Nope! I bought popcorn and a soda and settled in. The lights went down. The movie started. And then the 3D wasn’t synched with the screen. For the first fifteen minutes of the film everything was blurry. With 3D glasses or without. I went back to get a refund for the movie and then Olivia told me to leave w/o the chance to get the food I had paid for. This theater is truly a mess.

Squeaky Seats..

December 23, 2017

..that can't be overheard by the people loudly talking the entire time. These two problems have been prominent for years, the only difference is, there isn't always a squeaky seat. Check/oil the seats a but more often, and a few more routine checks/add some PSAs about talking in the theater. A cellphone going off is fine as long as it's quick, the people talking the whole time ruins the experience.
