Popcorn too salty
December 13, 2023
Sound level could be a little ower. Love the recliner sats. Like being at home.
Terrible experience!

Very disappointed and will not return. After choosing our available seats from the screen while purchasing the tickets and entering the theater, I find popcorn, salt and candy wrappers all over my seat. Oh well, right? So, I clean off my seat brushing the mess & trash onto the floor, along with the other trash present. Then the first of 25 minutes of commercials & previews begin. That's when we realized that the volume level of the theater audio system was so extremely loud that my ears actually hurt during the entire movie and it took 2-3 hours afterwards for the ringing in my ears to stop. That was even holding my fingers over my ears during the entire movie, ready for the extreme level increases. So, on our way out, I was wanting to express our disappointing experience to the staff or management. The problem was, I couldn't find one employee or security personnel on our way out. The only people visible were other patrons. The final straw was when trying to leave the building, we found the entire main exit intentionally & illegally obstructed forcing customers to travel a farther distance to a completely different remote exit. So, three strikes you're out AMC.
Seats are agonizing; screen is unimpressive for an IMAX

This was far and away the worst experience I've had in a movie theater. We were initially excited by the reclining seats, but *WOW* were they uncomfortable - I was literally in pain on the way back to the parking lot (and I'm a healthy 31yo). Additionally, the screen was just...a regular movie screen. Nothing special. The sound was fine - again, like a regular theater, but...isn't this supposed to be IMAX? We effectively paid $15 per ticket for some extremely uncomfortable leather seats and an otherwise-standard movie-watching experience. AVOID THIS IMAX AT ALL COSTS!
HATE the new seats and seating policy

Spending big bucks to put in reclining seats and requiring assigned seating were the stupidest ideas ever. Fewer people can fit into the theater, and it's now much harder to sit with your friends, since seats are now reserved or selected at the time of purchase (which slows down the process of buying tickets at the theater). My biggest gripe: supposed reclining seats that don't recline! This has happened to me twice, and complaining to an employee didn't help, after I finally tracked down an employee (since no one was at the customer service desk). Why didn't Showplace leave well enough alone, with the traditional seating? Also, the sound is TOO LOUD.
Poor service

My family of 7 went in yo watch a showing at 1:50. We got there at the theater around 1:50 as we had an appt beforehand that pushed us right to the showtime. We went anyway knowing there would be previews. We stood in line excited to see the new updates. We were only the 3rd in line but it took 15 minutes for us to get to the front of the line as they have a AMC premiere line that allows people to keep cutting in line ahead of you if they are a VIP member. The staff was distracted & kept having conversations with each other slowing the lines. There were only 2 people behind the counter & 1 came out from behind the counter to talk to someone by the entryway. When we finally reached the counter they said they only had front row seating left which is too close to even enjoy the show. With the new remodel & reclined seating they don't have many seats so it fills fast. So after waiting a total of 20 minutes just to get tickets we left the theater & went to another theater. The remodel wasn't an improvement.
Reclining theater seats now. Wow!!! I'll be back

Unbelievably comfortable new recline theater seating now. It will make me return for sure.
even though they are renovating, they need to offer more currant movies.

You're immediately divided into club members and non-members. You stand in line for a ticket while others get bumped up in front of you. Only to repeat the process at the concession stand. Popcorn and a drink are $15.00, on top of the already overpriced movie ticket. They have effectively priced me out of the movies. I will choose to spend my money elsewhere.
