Struck Out on this Theatre
February 18, 2019
Today was my third and last visit to the Staten Island AMC. I was first excited to go, but during my first visit there were problems with the line because the employee was having trouble scanning tickets, then when I got to my seat I noticed that it had food that someone had spilled all over it. On the second visit, the drink machines weren't working; and on the third visit (tonight) at 6:00 pm for a movie that started at 6:45 pm. However, as upon arrival the gate was closed and eventually it turned into a large crowd at the entrance with no one from the theatre explaining anything. They finally lifted the gate and it didn't take a genius to predict what would happen. There was a huge crowd trying to get in and it was chaos with people trying to buy tickets and people like me (who already had tickets) trying to get their tickets scanned to they could get upstairs to the theatre. A huge crowd with a kid scanning tickets one at a time and no order whatsoever. One of the employees announced that there should be two lines, but when another patron asked where they should form; the employee had no answer because there was just a mass of people. Also, you will see many guards sitting outside of the theatre and in the restaurant areas; but they are all mostly just playing on their cell phones and sitting around. It looks unprofessional and this location would be better served by hiring more professional employees who provide service and keep the theatre and bathrooms clean. The seats also do not fully recline and are not wide at all. I had something in my pocket and it kept hitting the heat button as well as the "recliner" controls. My prediction is that this place will turn into a dump soon and will most likely not do well. The people I was on line with said they are going back to New Jersey to see movies; and I am as well. Sorry, S.I. AMC - Strike Three and you're out!!!
Brand new and already dirty. Seats were filthy

We frequent the amc in Menlo Park all the time. When they opened one right here in the island we figured it was worth checking out. What a mistake! It has only been open one day and it was already filthy. Hard to believe but true. It’s nithing like Menlo Park. They delayed the opening three months and looks like they changed the format to accommodate the lack of trust worthy workers. You are not served at your seat and have to order at the concession stand. It’s totaly unorganized and the staff is clueless. You have to carry your candies and drinks to your seat and they won’t give you a tray. It’s ridiculous. Then you get to the seat and it’s not even clean. Even worse is that the so called recliners dontbreally recline. They are much smaller cheaper recliners and only offer a small incline. More uncomfortable than anything else. Also the table is tiny and barely fits anything. Add to that the fact you are way too close to people next to you and it’s just plain bad. They do deliver to your seat but it comes in a cheap cardboard and plastic container. Really low budget offering considering they charge more than Menlo! Then you are stuck with thevteguse on your table for the duration of the movie. They don’t come pick it up or anything. It’s just in the way. They actually expect you to clean up for them. All and all the environment is full of kids playing security guards and it’s run like a preschool. AMC should get their act together. This one is a loser! If you want to waste money go right ahead otherwise take the 20 min trip to Menlo and get treated like a human being not cattle like this place does.
