Never going to this theater and will be cancelling our AMC membership. This is suppose to be something fun to do and certainly don’t need an attitude.
Shame on AMC Northpoint
January 14, 2019
Yesterday my husband and I were charged a surcharge of an extra approximately 5.50 each for Dolby sound while attending s showing of A Star is Born. Someone has obviously not told AMC that Dolby is about quality and not quantity. What should have been a great experience was ruined by someone who equated the pleasure of good sound with VOLUME so we definitely got no quality. The volume was so loud that I downloaded a decibel meter. Most all of the ambient level ran between 60 and 80. and anytime they were in crowd or music scenes the volume hovered between 95 and 115 with spikes to 125. Please refer to this web site to understand what these outrageous noise levels can do to you Noise-Induced Hearing Loss | NIDCD. It would literally be child abuse to bring a child into the Dolby theater at Northpoint as it could seriously impede their hearing permanently. My personal hearing after leaving was fuzzy and my husband complained about his this morning. Do something constructive and SOLVE THIS PROBLEM TODAY.
